We were invited to
participate in a block party/open house event on September
10, 2009, sponsored by local businesses. As our
church's contribution, we offered live music, tours of our
recently remodeled building, and a table of literature near
the sidewalk that included Science & Health, periodicals and
invitations to our upcoming lecture.

The sidewalks were packed
with people visiting businesses over a three-block area.
We had many visitors, including friends of church members
who said that they'd meant to come in sometime and see our
remodel, but just hadn't gotten around to it.

In the foyer, Chris Page
and Robert Havas (our finish carpenter) were on hand to talk
about the remodel. In one corner, a slideshow of the
remodel was projected against a wall.

In the auditorium,
attendees were treated to organ selections by Richard Guy.
A recorder group also played on the front lawn.

In the Sunday School, the
newly installed windows with
their colorful glass corner tiles were on bright display.

foyer through to the main foyer.

Renee and Sandra were part
of the welcoming committee on
the front stairs. The block party provided a great
opportunity
to introduce our church to many new people, and to present
our church as a contributing part of the neighborhood.
